Meet Ric Beardsley, an outside sales team member and national contact for over five years. He brings with him an impressive background in the lacrosse apparel/equipment industry and a great deal of knowledge when it comes to the game of lacrosse, as he is an alum of Syracuse University, a very notable school in the lacrosse community. While attending the university, he became a two-time national champion in 1993 and 1995 and a four-time All-American. Post-grad, he played 2 Years of Major League Lacrosse (MLL) and 4 Years of National League Lacrosse (NLL). After he hung up the jersey, Ric was the head coach for the lacrosse team at Christian Brothers Academy in Syracuse for ten years, where he led the team to two sectional titles and a state championship title in 2017. As if this wasn’t impressive enough, he also played a pivotal role in helping over 200 players reach their dreams of playing collegiate lacrosse since his time in the industry. As well as coaching over 30 high school All-Americans on club and high school teams. In 2020, he was the assistant coach/defensive coordinator for the Atlas Lacrosse Club in the Premier Lacrosse League. In addition to his already impressive achievements, he is recognized in the Hudson Valley US Lacrosse Hall of Fame and Westchester County Sports Hall of Fame class of 2023 and hosts his own podcast, "Takeaways with Ric Beardsley.”

Matt Klank

Alumnus of Montclair State University. Played college lacrosse at Drexel University (92-93) and Montclair (94-95). Coached college lacrosse for over 25 years (Montclair, Villanova University, Drew University, Centenary University, and Caldwell University). Continues to be involved in the game in his spare time with True New Jersey and Klank Lacrosse LLC. Transitioned to Mercury in the Summer of 2022. Resides in Roseland, New Jersey, with his wife, Marisel, his two children, Ashley and Justin, and his golden retriever, Cooper.

Jim Townsend

Jim Townsend has been at Mercury since 2019. Before Mercury, Jim coached for 29 years collegiately, including 22 years as the Head Coach of RPI, where he is the all-time wins leader. He was also the Head Coach at McDaniel College and had stops as an assistant coach at Washington College and Salisbury University, his alma mater.

Jim is currently the assistant coach at CBA in Albany

Colin Bathory

Alumnus of Haverford College where he played college lacrosse from ’95-’99. He coached college lacrosse for over 15 years (Haverford (PA), Auburn University (AL), and Hampden-Sydney College (VA)) and high school lacrosse for over 9 years (Shipley School (PA), Plano East (TX), St. Joseph’s (NY). Continues to coach and work in the game of lacrosse with Bison Lacrosse and the Buffalo Lakers. Officiates the game of lacrosse with the NFLOA in Western New York. Started working with Mercury in 2016. Currently living in East Amherst, New York with his wife, Steph, his three children, Keegan, Grayson, and Finn, and his hound dogs, Bella and Luca.

Sorrel Coulson

Alumnus of Ohio Wesleyan University graduated in 2002 with a strong academic and athletics foundation. During his tenure as a Battling Bishop, he played lacrosse for four years, honing his sporting abilities, team-oriented mindset, and work ethic. Following graduation, Sorrel showcased his entrepreneurial spirit by founding Breakaway Sports Atlanta in 2005, illustrating his business acumen and passion for sports. In 2016, he transitioned his talents to Mercury Printing, seamlessly integrating his expertise into printing and design. Currently residing in Asheville with his wife and two children, Sorrel finds solace in fly fishing, cooking, and quality time spent with family. 

Chip Mayer

Chip hails from the prestigious lacrosse powerhouse of Ward Melville High School on Long Island, where he graduated in 1986 after earning High School All-American honors. He moved on to play at the University of North Carolina, where he graduated in 1990 after being named to the All-American and All-ACC teams. He then served as an assistant coach at UNC from 1990-1994, helping guide the Tar Heels to the 1991 NCAA Men's Div. I National Championship. In 1994 he co-founded the Great Atlantic Lacrosse Company in Chapel Hill, NC, helping it to become the largest mail-order lacrosse supplier in the US. From 1996-1998 Chip was the head coach at Chapel Hill High School, where he coached the Tigers to North Carolina public school state championship in 1997. In 1998 he accepted a job as the Southeastern Sales Representative for Brine Inc. He then served as the Southeast Regional Sales Manager for Warrior and Brine Lacrosse. In 2019 he left Warrior to take on a new role at Lax.com as their Southeast Regional Team Sales Manager Chip was one of the founding fathers of the Triangle Area Lacrosse League (TALL) in 1998 and served as the executive director for two years. He is a Co-founder of RIVAL Lacrosse Inc., which has established boys and girls youth lacrosse programs in Wake Forest, Cary, Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill, North Carolina. In January 2013, Chip took on a new role within the Fusion organization as the Director of TSL-Cannons Travel programs Currently, he shares in duties as Co-Director of RIVAL Youth Lacrosse. He married Kerry Ellen Byrne in 1999, and they have three girls: Abigail, Elisabeth, and Grace. The Mayer family lives in Durham and manages southeastern sales for Mercury screen printing and MACWEAR.
